Industrial Park

The Motherson Industrial Park (MIP) is the first general industrial park in India. It involves the development of 300 acres of land at the outskirts of Chennai, at Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.

The Industrial Park is near Chennai and is located at Singadivakkam & Mummalpattu villages of Kanchipuram district, which is 2.7KM from National Highway NH4 connecting Chennai to Bengaluru. With a large gamut of automobile and manufacturing facilities in this region the industrial park is set to be a hub for automobiles, general engineering, manufacturing and other businesses.

The park expects to generate employment for 20,000 people. It holds huge potential because of the concentration of automotive manufacturers from Japan, the U.S.A and Europe in this region. The park offers a plug and play infrastructure model. The project involves the development of best-in-class infrastructure including roads, water, electricity, safety and security, commercial areas, landscaping and recreation and telecommunications among others.

The estimated number of plots in this land is 60. The master plan for the Industrial Park design is by FICHTNER (German consulting and Design Company) and its Technical advisor is Nippon Koei (Japan.)
